Farewell Ms Hansell

Dear Ms Hansell
I would like to say Farewell and good luck for the future you have ahead of you!

Within the skylimit, we see the beautiful changes you have made in our wonderful school. it is so heart breaking to hear that you are leaving our whanau, but’s it’s for the best because if it is to be it begins with me! Ms Hansell, you are a talented, considerate, loyal, beautiful person who brightens up the corridors as she walks through them. A true mother bear would stay, but put her life and career ahead of that and that is what you are! A true mother bear who is leaving the cave to find a better life and environment! I don’t know how else I could ever thank-you for welcoming me into your whanau which is now ours. Saying goodbye to you is one of the most painfullest things I have ever experienced. because of the loyal person you are, you are simply the best and that’s what I love about you! Have fun and just know that at times it’ll be hard, but you just have to relax and get through it like a true adult! Relax and have a blast while you’re still young. Although you will be missed, you will still be somewhere in our hearts:)

Lots of aroha from
Caprice Tokoa xoxo <3

“Saying goodbye is one of the most painful things ever!”

My Poem About Culture:

Rarotonga and Maori
Rarotonga is a place filled with beautiful people and sweet voices,
Rarotonga is place filled with laughter, enjoyment and choices,
Rarotonga is a place of tranquility,
Rarotonga is a place of love and ability,
Rarotonga is a place where the sun is always shining above our heads,
Rarotonga is a paradise anyone would dream of going to bed,
The pampering and the hazy heats,
While listening to some island beats.

New Zealand is like a peaceful song,
You listen to the calm sea send messages out to the above is so strong,
New Zealand is like a ball as it bounces along,
It’s gets thrown up and down and slams itself on the ground
New Zealand is the fish which jumps upon the water and dives back down.
New Zealand has karma,
But the good kind,
Sensing all the badness and saying goodbye.

This is my poem about my culture and where I come from. be sure to leave some comments as I worked really hard to use more than enough words!

Poem: Starting a New Journey

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step
to achieve something you truly want,
It’s like writing on a piece of paper
trying to change the font,
I’m starting a new journey in another dimension,
With love but no hatred did I forget to mention?
The road can grow ever so long yet so close for us to walk and follow,
Leading on starting a new journey to make a difference to remove the hollow,
If you would like to have a positive life you need to make this possible for yourself,
Not himself or herself yourself!

Our Photovoice Project:

This is our Photovoice Project Chasity, Deandra, Mavis and I worked on for a week. We entered it into a competition and we got help by editing the original images we took of childfren which answered two very important questions. One: What does Manaiakalani mean to us and two: What impact does Manaiakalani have on us and our whanau? Be sure to leave some comments as we worked very hard to get this completed within a week of learning and education!

What was the key highlight of this year at Tamaki Primary School? Why?

Fun is the key highlight for my year. Having fun with my friends. Having fun with the teachers. Having fun. Learning was also one of my highlights. Learning new things such as the definition of adolescence and getting my work to the standard expected. Finishing my work within the timeframe given. This year has been a great example for me and I have had the best experience of my life! This year wouldn’t have been possible without Ms Aireen. She taught me to choose the right pathways and has got me ready for college. This year has been a blast!

Our Short Rap

Heres the thing we were in room one
Leveled up and learned about everyone
Saw the teachers walking round
Keeping students in school grounds
Walking up to class
Students running past
(ALL: FAST FAST FAST)
Reading
Writing
Maths
And inquiry
We need our education or there’s no celebration
Our school likes to learn
all those other schools can crash and burn

Friendship Poem

Friendship
Friendship is love and care that you cherish,
Let none of your friendships perish,
Hope and belief,
Brings so much relief ,
Friendship involves flesh, blood and bone,
Machines like some have no feeling especially drones.
Friendships are as bright as a pale moonlight,
Shining on you might be a delight.

Friendship is a speck of light,
That should glow ever so bright,
No friends of mine should have to suffer,
Just to prove that they are tougher,
Tell no one their secrets,
Let no one seek it,
Take your friendship to your grave and after life,
Keep it safe and never tell them a lie,
Take the road that leads to peace,
Me and my friends shall release,
The painful times that we suffered
Will only make us tougher.

My Speech: Ka Pioioi E

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” Gautama Buddha.
Peace is a journey of good times. But, it takes one step at a time to achieve something you truly want. Being peaceful is something we all say we will do, but end up not achieving. The song I have chosen to talk about is a Maori song which has been passed down my family for generations. Ka Pioioi E is the title. Peace is expressed within this song. It is soothing and calming for the soul. Peace is the main idea in this song. Going under that is my song choice. my 3 main points will be what peace means, the translation of what my song means, and how this song represents myself and my whanau. `

Being peaceful is one thing you can do to help resolve some of the worlds problems. The entire world is depending on each other to make our world much peaceful for our younger generations. Is this a good world for them to grow up in? Anyway, back to the subject. Ka Pioioi E is a song about dancing and letting all of the guilt flow through your life.

Life is treasuring your hometown and people and keeping them in your heart when you’re not with them. This phrase “I tō ataahua ai kanapa.” Means “beauty gleaming here.” It also means taking someone in for who they really are don’t matter if they’re ugly or pretty. You are who you are. Another phrase is “Ka Pioioi E.” Which means “this swaying dance.” It means sway alongside those whom have had enough of all the nonsense and get away for a while. Not saying running away from your problems is solving them, just getting away for a bit.

This song reminds me of my hometown and people and how we connect to our long lost whanau. I feel as if my long lost whanau is still here with us and I can talk to them anytime. Because I know, deep down, they will understand. This song is about dancing through life and having a blast. It relates to peace with one and one only word. Happiness. The way happiness relates to life is a way I cannot describe. Happiness communicates with life. Happiness gives our lives more opportunities to correct the incorrect!

Happiness and peace around tamariki and whanau will create more social abilities and calm reactions towards how you act around people. This song is representing and creating peace because it is soothing and controllable and you can always figure something out when dancing along to this song. The lyrics of this song brings happiness and peace to my family. We stick up for each other and never push them down!

To sum up my speech, music is courageous, music is honest, music is powerful. Music can express true feelings composers feel as they write these particular songs. Therefore, happy songs are because they are happy. Sad songs are because they are sad. Or any type of song has a reason why the composer has wrote this particular song. This has been my speech. I hope you enjoyed!
